Launch of the Alpine Drone Consortium

On 9 February 2026, the Alpine Drone Consortium was launched at the Innovationsbiotop Uri in Altdorf, in the presence of the representatives from the three Alpine cantons involved (Ticino, Uri and Graubünden). The Alpine Drone Consortium, launched by Innovation Transfer Central Switzerland (ITZ) in close collaboration with Switzerland Innovation Park Ticino and other cantonal, research and industrial partners, brings together public authorities, research institutes and private sector players.

The consortium’s mission is to support and accelerate the implementation of industrial and commercial solutions based on the technologies and opportunities offered by drones through:

• Outdoor flight in real alpine environments
• Intercantonal coordination
• Collaboration between industry, scientific research and public administration

We are proud to be among the co-founders and active members of this consortium, which perfectly complements at regional alpine level the activities already underway with our Swiss Drone Competence Centre at Riviera Airport.
